Privacy Policy
PinSchedule is a family scheduling app run by Davily LLC ("PinSchedule", "we", "us"). It helps parents, tutors and children keep schedules, tasks, classes, rewards and messages in one place. This policy explains what the app collects, why, who can see it, and the choices you have. We wrote it to be read, so if anything is unclear, email privacy@pinschedule.com.
The short version
- Accounts are for people aged 13 and over. Parents, guardians, tutors and individuals sign up with an email address and password.
- Children never register. A parent adds their child to the parent's own account, then connects the child's device with a 6-character code or a QR code. The child does not enter an email address, password, phone number or date of birth.
- A child's information always belongs to the parent. The parent sees every task, schedule item, reward and message for their child, controls who else can see them, and can delete it at any time.
- We do not sell personal information, show ads, or track you across other apps and websites. We do not use third-party advertising or analytics tools.
1. Who can use PinSchedule
Adults and teens aged 13 and over
You must be at least 13 years old to create a PinSchedule account. Parents, guardians, tutors and people using PinSchedule for themselves create an account with an email address, a username and a password. If you are under 18, please use PinSchedule with the knowledge of a parent or guardian.
Children
Children do not create accounts, and no child is ever required to register. Instead:
- A parent or guardian creates the child's profile inside the parent's account.
- The parent connects the child's device by showing a one-time 6-character code or QR code from the parent's own signed-in device. The child types or scans it once on their device.
- Connecting a device asks the child for nothing else: no email address, no password, no phone number, no date of birth.
- The parent can sign the child's devices out, or delete the child's profile, at any time.
If we learn that a child under 13 created a regular account on their own, we will delete it. If you think this has happened, please contact us.
2. Information we collect
| What | Details |
|---|---|
| Your account (adults and teens 13+) | Name, email address, username, password (kept only as a one-way scrambled value, never in readable form), your role (parent, tutor or individual), and optionally a profile photo and a phone number. |
| A child's profile (entered by the parent) | The child's name, age, grade, an avatar or optional photo, an accent color, and optional notes the parent writes. We do not ask for a child's date of birth, address, email or phone number to use the app. |
| What you and your family create in the app | Tasks and to-dos, schedule items, classes and lessons, rewards and points, comments, notes, messages, and any photos or files you choose to attach. |
| Calendars you connect | If you add an Apple, Outlook or other calendar link, we read the events in that calendar so they appear in PinSchedule: titles, dates, times, places and any links inside them. Google Calendar and Google Classroom connections, where available, work the same way (see section 5). |
| Technical information | A push-notification token for your device, the app version, and routine server logs that record requests (including the IP address) so we can keep the service secure and fix problems. These logs are kept for a limited period. |
What we do not collect: your location, your phone's contacts, advertising identifiers, health information, or payment details. The app does not use cookies.
Permissions. The app asks for your permission before using the camera or photo library (only when you add a picture), the microphone (only if you use voice dictation, when available), and notifications (only to send the reminders and alerts you turn on). You can change each of these in your phone's Settings.
3. How we use information
- To run PinSchedule: show schedules and tasks, keep rewards and points, deliver messages, and sync calendars you connect.
- To send emails and notifications you ask for, such as sign-in codes, password resets, reminders and alerts.
- To keep accounts and children safe and to prevent misuse.
- To answer support requests and to fix and improve the app.
- To meet legal obligations.
We do not use personal information for advertising, to build profiles for marketing, or to sell to anyone.
4. Children's information and parental control
This section is for parents and guardians. It also explains how we handle the information of children under 13 in line with the U.S. Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA).
You are in control
- You create the profile. Only a parent or guardian can add a child, and a child's information lives inside the parent's account.
- You see everything. Every task assigned to or created by your child, their schedule, rewards, comments and messages are visible to you. When a tutor messages your child, you receive a read-only copy of that conversation.
- You choose who else can see it. A co-parent or tutor can only see what you allow, and you can remove their access at any time. You can require approval for tasks a child creates.
- No chatting with strangers. There is no way for a child to message another child or someone their parent has not connected. Connections between children's profiles are set up by parents, and other families see only a task that was shared with them.
- Nothing about a child is public. Children cannot post anything publicly.
Your consent
By adding a child to your account and connecting their device, you confirm that you are the child's parent or legal guardian and you consent to us collecting and using the child's information as described in this policy.
Your rights as a parent
- Review: everything we hold about your child is visible to you in the app. You can also download a copy under Settings, Privacy & Security, Download My Data, or ask us for one.
- Change: you can edit your child's profile, tasks and schedule at any time.
- Delete and stop collection: deleting the child's profile (in the child's profile in the app) removes the profile and everything tied to it, including tasks, schedule items, rewards, notes and chat threads about the child, and the sign-in record created for the child's device. Signing the child's devices out or deleting the profile stops further collection.
- You can also email privacy@pinschedule.com and we will help.
Our commitments about children's information
- We collect only what is needed to run the app for the family.
- We never sell or rent it, never use it for advertising, and never share it except with the service providers that run the app for us (section 5).
- We do not require a child to provide more information than is needed to use the app.
5. Who can see information
People you choose
Your family members and co-parents you invite, and tutors you approve, can see what you allow them to see. Other families can see only a task that has been shared with them.
Service providers that help us run PinSchedule
We use a small number of providers to operate the app, only for that purpose:
- Amazon Web Services for secure hosting, our database, and sending the emails described above.
- Apple to deliver push notifications and to distribute the app through TestFlight and the App Store.
- Expo to deliver push notifications and app updates to your phone.
Google Calendar and Google Classroom
Where available, if you choose to connect Google Calendar or Google Classroom, we read your events or your child's assignments and due dates, and keep the access Google gives us so the information stays up to date. You can disconnect at any time, which stops syncing and removes our access. PinSchedule's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements. We use this information only to show it to you inside PinSchedule.
Other situations
We may disclose information if the law requires it or to protect someone's safety, and if PinSchedule is sold or merged (with the same protections). We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for advertising.
6. Artificial intelligence
PinSchedule does not currently send your information, or any information about children, to an artificial-intelligence service. Optional assistant and voice features may be offered in the future. Before any feature sends information to an AI provider, we will update this policy and tell you in the app.
7. How long we keep information, and deleting it
- We keep your information while your account is open.
- To delete your account: Settings, Privacy & Security, Delete Account. This deletes your account and everything in it, including the profiles of any children you added and all of their tasks, schedules, rewards and messages, and the sign-in records for their devices.
- To delete only a child: delete that child's profile in the app (see section 4).
- Routine server logs are kept for a limited period. Backups of our database are kept for a limited time (up to 35 days) and then overwritten, so deleted information disappears from backups within that period.
- If you cannot use the app to delete something, email us and we will do it.
8. Security
Information travels between the app and our servers over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection. Passwords are stored only as a one-way scrambled value. Access to our systems is limited to what is needed to run the service. No online service can promise perfect security, so please choose a strong, unique password. If a breach affects your information, we will tell you as the law requires.
9. Your choices and rights
- See and edit your information in the app, and download a copy (Settings, Privacy & Security).
- Delete your account or your child's profile in the app.
- Turn notifications on or off in the app and in your phone's Settings, and disconnect any calendar you connected.
- If you live in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or California, you may have additional rights, such as access, correction, deletion, and objecting to certain processing. Email us to use them. We do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
10. International use
PinSchedule's servers are in the United States. If you use the app from another country, your information is processed in the United States.
11. Changes to this policy
If we make a change that matters, we will update the date at the top and tell you in the app or by email. If a change affects how we handle children's information, we will ask parents before it takes effect.
